The Ellipse
This project began with the combined imagination of Audio Interiors and Julie Hillman design. AcousticSmart’s team of dedicated home theater design professionals then partnered with Julie Hillman design to help make the concept and vision of a serpentine shaped room and sofa detail come to life.
With all of these raw creative forces at work, we set out to satisfy the clients every desire and it all began with an empty room and a blank piece of paper. Carefully crafted hand drawings and 3D virtual perspectives were meticulously labored over as we began to formulate the project. Once everyone had played their part, we’re ready to get to work. Our final plans accounted for every detail of the room: Sight
lines, custom built-in seating, color texture, AV system, carpet, lighting, finishes, and our client’s every desire. Our staff then went to work handling every detail of the room’s acoustical and interior development. Everything we incorporated had to match the style and grandeur of the home. The sofa was so custom that it had to be fabricated in the field at the Jobsite in order to meet the exact curvature of the room. The Custom Fiber optic ceiling with shooting stars and constellations was added to bring the dynamic of a realistic night-time sky, and a custom colored led light cove area was developed to bring a special ambiance to the room. Audio Interiors was able to concentrate on their AV systems most importantly the huge 76” High x 135” Wide 16:9 Vu-Tec screen and the powerful Sim 2 projector, along with the electric and installation, while AcousticSmart made the room look and sound acoustically tuned. Communication with everyone on the job site, our combined staff make certain that every minute issue is handled with care. At last, the room is complete; the client now finds themselves immersed in the most beautiful room in the house. The perfect escape from everyday stress, the family gathers in their Home theatre for their favorite movies, games or sporting events.
